Creative Play Lampshade

Well I've surprised myself again with my sewing ability!
It is all down to Sarah Walker's careful guidance though...
We had another Creative Play day today & it was Sarah's turn to share her skills....

I had taken along some fab wrapping paper by Sanna Annukka which I'd bought online from 1973. After taking a deep breath I cut the paper into strips which I then had to stitch together with a matching yellow handmade paper supplied by Sarah.
As I rarely do straight lines on anything this was a bit of a challenge but I just had to accept it was unlikely to be perfect & just go for it!
After gaining a little confidence I did manage to assemble a length of papers ready to create my lampshade. This was done with lots of help from Sarah again who has many years experience in creating wonderful paper shades.

I'm so pleased with the result! Obviously the lovely design of the paper is what works but the fact that I have been able to create something from it is really great! Stopped on the way back & bought a inexpensive lamp base with I think goes ok & the lamp is now proudly lit up at home!
