Walter Hoyle illustrations

I found this lovely little cookbook (printed in 1969) in Oxfam yesterday. It was really the illustrations which caught my eye rather than the recipes! I had not heard of Walter Hoyle before but found a little information:

Walter Hoyle 1922 - 2000 was a painter and printmaker. He was born in Lancashire and studied at Beckenham School of Art from 1938. He then gained a place at the Royal College of Art in 1940 where he studied under Edward Bawden. They became close friends and Hoyle later moved to Great Bardfield to live and work alongside Bawden. He held many exhibitions and his work is in collections such as the Tate Gallery. He taught at the Cambridge School of Art, placing great emphasis on printmaking, from 1964 until he retired in 1985.
