Last commission of 2012.....

I have just completed my last commission of 2012....I have a few lined up for the New Year but can now have a bit of a breather....This little nanny goat brooch is a one-off but I'm going to add her into the farmyard collection next year.  This will involve making another 'master' from which I can make a mould.  Other designs which I ran out of time for this year include: tractor cufflinks & hedgehog earrings.

Yesterday was spent making some special one off commission pieces....An African Grey Parrot & some Terracotta Warriors!  I had done the sketches while I was doing my day at The Court Barn Museum earlier this month.

The parrots are made in seven sections from silver which I've then oxidised.  The red tail has been done in copper.  I've then scratched through the surface on the silver to give the impression of feathers.

We were lucky enough to visit China in 2001 & went to see the incredible Terracotta Warrior figures.  I had a guide book so these images were based on the of the statues.  Again made in oxidised silver with punched & stamped decoration.

Last event of 2012!

This Saturday 15th December I shall be showing in Cheltenham once again for the Arts Market on the Promenade 9am - 5 pm. This will be my last show of 2012.... I think this year must be a record with around 25 events!!! I already have some dates in mind for next year but not confirmed things yet & I would like to relax over Christmas then decide.

My studio will also be open on Saturday 10am - 4pm plus Sunday 11am - 4pm so still time to get those handmade Christmas presents although I'm not able to accept any more commissions at this late have some for January though which is good as it will get me started again after the break.

Christmas Tree Festival Chipping Campden

It was my day to be at the Court Barn Museum in Chipping Campden today where the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen have a little show until Sunday. After the museum closed I went over to St James' Church to see the beautiful Christmas Tree Festival. There were 41 exhibitors with some very inventive ideas! Some of my favourites had been decorated by children...but my favourite (which you can vote for yours if you visit) was by Creative Stitches 'Woolly Christmas and a Creative New Year'.

Sorry been away from the computer quite a lot recently with shows, setting up shows, exhibitions & taking down, travelling from shows.....!
Only a few more to do this month.

This week I shall be in Chipping Campden tomorrow at Court Barn Museum showing with some of the members of the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen (this little show continues until Sunday 9th Dec 10am - 4pm). The display at No8 comes out tomorrow afternoon so only a short while if you wish to make any purchases there!

On Saturday I'm in Hereford again for the Arts Market in High Town 9am - 5pm

then on Sunday I'm off to Birmingham to the Midlands Arts Centre for Marketplace 11am - 5pm

In between all this I'm hopefully going to be making things in the studio! I think I need my lucky deer brooch.....
