Nancy Pickard Workshop day

Yesterday was a 'creative play day' at Brewery Arts in Cirencester with artist Nancy Pickard.  She currently has a fab exhibition on there called 'A Cat May Look at A Queen' (see next post).  This workshop was to create a garden wind chime using copper & found objects.  My main interest was the enameling aspect which Nancy incorporates into her jewellery pieces.  Having had limited experience with enamel before this was a great opportunity to use the technique on my pieces as I had taken some of my etched copper leaves to use on my wind chime.

The morning was spent selecting & preparing components to include....

Tim working hard....

Starting to emamel pieces...

The completed piece....

I actually like the effect of the pieces being more in a line...
I might adapt my wind chime into more of a wall hanging!?

Tim's finished piece & details of the enamel on leaves

Other participants finishing some interesting pieces too!
