Late at The Tate...

Last night we popped into Tate St Ives for a FREE entry into the exhibitions...
this is something that happens on the last friday of May, June & September (The Barbara Hepworth Museum is included too but we ran out of time!)

Before going in we couldn't resist a quick wander on the beach...
where this fella was looking for a tasty morsel? (We did not share our chips!!!)

Some of the beach times this time....
the large limpet would make a fab brooch????
Maybe my next addition to the range...

One of the artist's in the Summer exhibition is American Allen Ruppersberg.  We we're familiar with his work before...the piece included in the show is 'The Never Ending Book 2007'.  This consists of 1000's of digital copied images from books from the artist's own library.  These are displayed stacked in boxes on coloured props.  Visitors are invited to choose up to 6 of the pages to take away with them.  The idea then being to create your own 'book'.  After being reminded not to sit on the exhibits & being given a chair (my back was aching!) The above are the pages I came away with.

The other part we really enjoyed was watching the video of a new ballet 'The Ultimate Form' choreographed by Linder & Kenneth Tindell of Northern Ballet.  The costumes are created by Pam Hogg & the fab music was Stuart McCallum of The Cinematic Orchestra.  I would love to see a live performance!
