Seaweed..................

On Sunday during a visit to Marazion beach I collected various types of seaweed to refer to for my next collection of work.  I did not have chance to look at the samples properly until yesterday by which time they had started to go a little slimy (& smelly YUK!) so I thought it best to photograph them before they deteriorate any further....

Some of the colours are lovely & I think they will translate into copper & brass very well.  I plan to do some more sketching today from the photographs.  The issue is making the metal work delicate enough to represent the finer fronds but still strong enough for wall piece....

This large variety was collected from a very small section of beach & the sea was lovely & warm on my toes!
