Textures & Patterns at Eden

Fab day yesterday at the Eden Project....have been several times before but not for a couple of years so new things to see.  Lots of photographs taken as usual! These are a few of the textures, colours & patterns that caught my eye.....

February has been fairly productive....

Although I've not been feeling the most motivated this month I have managed to achieve a reasonable amount of work! The new etching is working well & with requests for stock from several outlets plus a list of events for the year I thought I'd better get settled into the studio & the neighbours are pleased to hear me hammering away at the workbench again!?

The verdigris pieces sold well last year - maybe the colours are more suited to the Cornish light?  Although I'm not that keen on the colouring process I do like the effect it creates on the metal - giving a softness & aged appearance.

The following pieces will be on display in my Drill Hall Gallery & also included in the Guild of Ten's window display 24th March - 14th April, where I shall be showing with fellow jeweller Daisy Dunlop.

(Sorry some of the images are a little wonky!...in my rush to photograph them while the light was good I didn't always line them up very well!)

I've also been experimenting a little with some of the bird & leaf etching to produce some variations on the themes I currently produce....

These are almost like wind chimes as the leaves move together quite freely
making a gentle sound....

As the 'Lovebirds' pieces have gone so well I wanted to try some other birdie pieces...
