October's drawing a day project....

The past few months I have been taking part in little creative projects with a group of friends.  We have been each doing a little drawing, painting or taking a photograph every day for that month working from a prompt as a starting point.

October's prompt was a drawing a day, only 5 minutes & I used a fine liner pen
(V5 HI-TECHPOINT)which bleeds rather nicely when water is applied....these are my results:

I find this a really useful exercise & it makes sure I do something creative everyday even it it is very small!  In November we are mark making so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens over the next few weeks....

Guild of Ten window display

I've just got home after the Guild of Ten's monthly meeting where I took out the current window display ready for the next makers installation tomorrow.  I thought I would share some of the photographs in case you missed it!
I was exhibiting my work with knitwear designer Corinne Carr & the colour combinations really worked well.  I always have a display within the Guild showing a selection of my work but we take turns having the window.  This evening we have been discussing our forthcoming Christmas window!  Watch this space.....

Summer in St Ives

Summer (although we may not think it is with the weather at the moment!?) is in full swing here in St Ives.  Lots of visitors have arrived & the shop in the Drill Hall has been very busy so far!  I've been lucky enough to have a nice article published in the latest ArtSpread magazine which is a free local publication.  You can pick one up around Cornwall but if you are not in the area I have scanned it in so you can hopefully have a read here....or pop over the the website

We also have an entry in the latest Summer Art Guide published by My Cornwall magazine.  This is another great free guide to the galleries/makers/events in Cornwall.  We have plenty of copies here in the Drill Hall or pick up one from other galleries around Cornwall.

Yesterday was set up day at Cape Cornwall school in St Just for the annual Arts & Crafts Exhibition in aid of Cancer Research UK.  I have a selection of sea inspired pieces on display with a good range of my metalwork cards too.  There is a preview evening on Tuesday 1st August & then the show continues until 18th August.
